We dismantle unit casing, clean and sanitize the heat exchanger core, wash fan blades to prevent imbalance, and flush out the condensation trap. We provide new filters or a replacement set if current filters are in good condition as part of the service. We also sanitise grilles in each room to ensure better distribution of air.
Airflow Balancing & Diagnostics
Using precise anemometers, we measure and balance airflow at each extract and supply terminal, ensuring building control Part F compliance.

How often should a ventilation unit be professionally serviced?
We recommend a full professional service every year to ensure fan health, clean the heat-recovery core, and re-balance airflows to legal building standard rates.
Where can I buy replacement filters?
HVS supplies premium, manufacturer-approved replacement filters for all major MHRV systems (including Brink, Zehnder, Vent-Axia, and many more). You can order them directly through our contact portal.
What happens if I neglect servicing my HRV system?
Neglecting servicing leads to high fan motor drag, causing the motors to consume more electricity and eventually fail prematurely. Dirty filters block clean fresh air flow, returning condensation and damp problems to your rooms.
Can you service DIY-installed ventilation systems?
